UMZIMVUBU LOCAL MUNICIPALITY TO HOST A DIGITAL IDP AND BUGDET CONSULTATIVE PROGRAMME FOR 2020/21 FY ON COMMUNITY RADIO STATIONS
Umzimvubu Local Municipality will host a digital IDP and Budget consultative programme on three local community radio stations on the 13th May 2020. Due to the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the municipality has ventured into other digital mediums to appease all mandatory public consultative processes.
The municipality has identified three community radio stations; Alfred Nzo Community Radio, Inkonjane Community Radio and the Voice of Matat FM. A link-in transmission approach will be used to connect all three radio stations from 16:00pm – 18:00pm.
“Local residents will have an opportunity to comment on the developmental programme of the municipality as contained in the IDP and budget for the next financial year. The integrated development plan and budget outreach programme is a process through which municipalities prepare a strategic development plan. This then guides and informs all planning, budgeting, management and decision-making processes in the municipality. Residents are therefore urged to participate in this programme” said Umzimvubu Mayor, Councillor Sobane Mnukwa.

The media and all local residents are invited to participate in the digital IDP and Budget Outreach Programme.
