UMZIMVUBU LOCAL MUNICIPALITY MOURNS THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF WARD 22 COUNCILLOR – SANDISE MADLANGA

Umzimvubu Local Municipality is saddened by the untimely death of Councillor (Cllr.) Sandise Madlanga who passed away on Sunday, 18 August 2019.

The municipal council and administration have been dispossessed from yet another staunch community leader.

Cllr. Madlanga was a ward 22 councillor at Umzimvubu Local Municipality and also served as the chairperson of the Local Labour Forum (LLF). The deceased also served as an MPAC member for the municipality whilst also serving in the Corporate Services Standing Committee. During his political tenure, Cllr Madlanga served as the Deputy Chairperson of the Manyano ANC branch in ward 22 from 2011 – 2016. Cllr Madlanga joined the Council of Umzimvubu after the 2016 Local Government Elections and thereafter became an additional member of the Manyano ANC Branch in Ward 22.

The deceased suffered a long illness and was declared no more in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“On behalf of Umzimvubu Municipality I would like to send our deepest condolences to his family and the community of Umzimvubu that he served. May we all find solace in knowledge that we all painfully share the untimely loss of our leader. Cllr Madlanga was a good man who cared about his community and worked diligently towards the development of his community” said the Mayor of Umzimvubu Municipality, Cllr S. K Mnukwa.
