UMZIMVUBU LOCAL MUNICIPALITY MOURNS THE PASSING OF YET ANOTHER FORMER MAYOR. It’s been a week since the passing of former Mayor Joseph Munyu and with deep regret, Umzimvubu Local Municipality has learnt of the passing of yet another former Mayor of the institution. The late Honourable Cllr Kulukazi Pangwa passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning this week.
“The deceased was the 3rd Mayor of Umzimvubu Local Municipality post 1994. During her term in council, she worked tirelessly to ensure that all residents had equal access to basic service delivery. Cllr Pangwa will be remembered for her utmost humility and transparent leadership during her time with the institution” said Umzimvubu Mayor, Cllr Sobane Mnukwa.
“The passing of this leader comes at a time when our country is in mourning. On behalf of the community of Umzimvubu Local Municipality, please allow me to extend my sincere condolences to the Pangwa family. I pray that they too shall be granted strength to overcome this great loss” concluded Mayor Mnukwa.
The family is yet to make an official announcement on her burial arrangements. This will also be shared through our official communication platforms for all interested residents to pay homage to the fallen leader.
