| From the 28th October 2019 – 31st October 2019, Umzimvubu Local Municipality will hold a 4 day EXCO IDP outreach programme in all 27 wards of the municipality. The outreach seeks to provide progress on municipal programmes while also revising ward priorities in preparation for the 2020/2021 Municipal Financial Year.
The outreach will allow local residents to have an opportunity to participate in the developmental planning process in their respective areas. This platform will provide an ideal opportunity for the political leadership to engage with the local community on various service delivery programmes planned for the local community. “The Municipality remains committed in ensuring that every resident gains access to basic municipal services. I urge all municipal stakeholders including, Business Formations, Government Institutions, Faith-based Organisations, Non-Profit organisations and Civil Society Organisations to partake in the IDP Outreach program. ” said the Speaker of Council, Cllr Florida Ngonyolo. “The planning, implementation and maintenance of basic infrastructure is critical for sustaining basic standards of living and economic activity in our area” she concluded. The IDP outreach is a programme conducted annually. Community residents are encouraged to attend the sessions in their respective areas.
